Luke Derrick (Editor/Creator)

Luke has been playing quidditch since late 2012. Captaining the University of Sydney Unspeakables since the start of 2013, Luke has moved from keeper to beater and than to beater/keeper/chaser, while playing snitch for his team and reffing. Luke has had a passion for analysing quidditch since he started playing the game. WIth an article written for the AQA and The Eighth Man, Luke is attempting to expand his writing skills and his analytical knowledge of the sport through Beyond the Snitch. He has experiencing playing and watching games in NSW, Victoria, USA and Canada, giving him the experience to make the in depth analysis he aims for.

Alexander Enrico (Podcast Host)

A Media & Communications, Marketing, and Economics student at the University of Sydney, Alex channels some of his restless self into Quidditch during his weekdays (sometimes weekends) as he plays as a Chaser for the USyd Unspeakables. He hosts his own radio show at a community station, but spends most of his time honing his FIFA skills in his bedroom. If not you’ll find him chasing down a ball at some field, or working on one of his media projects.

Liam McMoppin (Writer)

Liam’s sporting background is broad and he especially enjoys playing quirky sports, which inevitably led him to Quidditch. Liam has been playing Quidditch as a member of the Victorian Wrackspurts team since October 2013. His role in the team developed into coach, which he remains at present. Liam has primarily been a keeper throughout his playing days, however has increasingly dabbled in chasing and beating on the side. Beyond the Snitch has provided Liam with a chance to further his Quidditch knowledge by discussing the game with those with more experience. When not running around like a headless chook on field, Liam can be found playing Age of Empires and being a general angry nerd.

Ajantha Abey (Editor)

Ajantha, better known as AJ, has been playing Quidditch for USyd since the beginning of 2014. He is currently studying Advanced Science and Arts at The University of Sydney, with interests in Neuroscience, Classical Latin and Ancient History. Having started out as chaser and recently added seeking to his repertoire, Ajantha is still relatively young to the world of Quidditch; six TriWiz Tournaments, Midwinter, October Fantasy, and QUAFL, all in 2014 have however given him substantial game experience. Besides Quidditch, Ajantha also enjoys creating content, from visual media to written analysis, for to his many fandoms including Doctor Who, Tolkien, and especially Harry Potter, and strongly identifies with being a Ravenclaw.

Stephen Butler (Writer)

Outside of quidditch, Stephen is an avid football (soccer) fan and supports the Western Sydney Wanderers and Arsenal, he plays the drums, loves eating food and plays a lot of video games. As an English major, he hopes that writing articles for BTS can help him further his writing skills
